Jewel Buksa, MBA, BA
President & CEO
Jewel Buksa, an accomplished strategist, communicator, and program developer, has worked in conference and association management for more than 25 years. Jewel started her career in communications and education at the former Alberta Healthcare Association and Health Unit Association of Alberta. After health system restructuring in the 1990s, she was motivated to start a company that would provide high quality, strategic conference services to select clients . She founded BUKSA in 1995; her energy, intuition and commitment to her staff and clients and have led to BUKSA’s reputation as a firm dedicated to the customer experience, sound project management, and exceptional production value.
Jewel currently serves as Board Vice-Chair of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs, is an active member of Entrepreneurs Organizations, and for many years served in various capacities on the board of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, Northern Alberta Chapter. When not working or volunteering, Jewel enjoys spending time reading, biking, travelling, and most importantly spending time with her family.
