Background
The International Symposium on Glycoconjugates (Glyco) is a biennial global gathering of leading researchers, clinicians, and industry experts in glycomics. In 2025, Glyco27 returned to Canada for the first time in nearly 20 years, hosted in partnership with GlycoNet to showcase Canadian leadership in the field. The event also marked GlycoNet’s 10-year anniversary, providing an opportunity to highlight a decade of impact in advancing glycoscience research.
Challenge
As an internationally rotating symposium, Glyco27 faced high expectations and global competition from other leading scientific congresses. Organizers needed to:
- Deliver operational excellence at a scale befitting a world-class scientific meeting
- Maximize international engagement across more than 20 participating countries
- Coordinate a complex scientific program with hundreds of speakers and posters
- Celebrate GlycoNet’s anniversary with events that balanced scientific rigor with community-building
- Elevate Canada’s profile as a leader in glycoscience research
